The Studio

The NESCom studio complex is built around a large live recording space with two isolation booths popular for tracking drums, percussion, vocals, horns, and amplifiers. Four control rooms surround the NESCom studio, each with a unique assortment of equipment. A variety of other audio-centric rooms exist elsewhere on campus, including three control rooms, a music production suite, and a multi-user Pro Tools lab.

A fully equipped mic closet accompanies the NESCom studio. Offering a wide array of choices, the collection includes mikes from Royer, Neumann, RCA, AKG, Earthworks, Sony, Electro-Voice, Sennheiser, Schoeps, Coles, Beyer, Shure, Telefunken, Brauner, and others. Each control room is also equipped with a varied selection of mic preamps including models from API, Avalon, Universal Audio, A Designs, Tube Tech, True, Grace, and Burl.
