Nancy Roberts teaches courses in public relations, marketing, and research. She also advises the Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter on campus.
Nancy has been Accredited in Public Relations (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America Universal Accreditation Board since 2009. Accreditation in Public Relations is the largest and most prestigious certification program for the public relations profession. The designation recognizes competence and excellence in communication management.

Nancy worked in public relations and marketing for 18 years prior to joining the faculty. She began her career in healthcare in Connecticut. In Maine, she was Community Relations Director for Mayo Regional Hospital for two years. She went on to work at United Way of Eastern Maine for ten years completing her employment as Vice President, Community Impact.

Nancy is a graduate of Bangor Region Leadership Institute and Leadership Maine. She is a board member of the Maine Public Relations Council and a member of the Yankee Chapter of Public Relations Society of America, and the American Marketing Association.

Theresa Ayotte teaches courses in graphic design including Graphic Design for Print I, Graphic Design for Print II, and Digital Illustration for Design.

Theresa has been a professional graphic designer for over 20 years. In 1996, she launched Terelar Advertising Productions, LLC, a graphic design and commercial photography firm. Prior to starting her own business, she was the Art Director at Bronson Communications, an advertising agency in the Bangor area. Theresa has received professional recognition and awards from the Maine Graphic Arts Association. She is a fine artist as well as a graphic designer and her work has been exhibited at the Maine Coast Artist Gallery in Rockport, Maine.

Melissa Donnelly

Melissa S. Donnelly teaches courses in marketing.  She brings more than 18 years of business management and marketing experience working with clients from a variety of industries.  Her experience includes evaluating and advising small businesses on management and financing procedures; developing and implementing business and marketing plans; budgeting and planning; fundraising planning and donor cultivation and solicitation for non-profit organizations; and developing support material of promotional plans including brochures, commercials, client proposals, and various publications.  Melissa specializes in in-depth market research, including survey instruments and focus groups.

Melissa has served as a Business Counselor at Northern Maine Development Commission, a consultant with Marketing Advertising Planning, Inc., and as an instructor of marketing and economics.

Larry Ayotte teaches courses in Digital Photography and Photojournalism. Larry has over 30 years of experience as a professional photographer and videographer. Larry has held various positions in the field of photography including working at WLBZ TV as a videographer for 12 years. His videography work includes assignments shooting for MPBN, NBC Nightly news, Today Show, ABC Nightline, CNN, AP, History Channel, Discovery Channel and A&E. Currently, Larry is also the staff photographer at Terelar Advertising Productions, LLC providing commercial photography services for clients throughout Maine.

Jill teaches Computer Applications for Digital Media and Advertising II. Currently she is the Marketing Director for Husson University. She was owner and designer at JGroup Advertising for 14 years. Her extensive layout and design experience includes several newspapers and Snowman Printing. Jill has developed communications concepts for everything from new business launches and advertising, direct marketing and fundraising campaigns to brochures, annual reports, and websites for a wide variety of regional and local clients including Farm Credit of Maine, Governor's Restaurant, OHI, Prentiss & Carlisle, and Moosehead Furniture. She has also served on several non-profit committees (Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, OHI, Spruce Run, University of Maine Alumni Association) in an advisory capacity.




Mike Fern

A 26-year veteran of the media industry, Mike began his career in 1987 with the Journal Register Company, a media conglomerate that publishes in 10 states including two top-10 markets. He held several circulation, marketing and management positions within the company at various publications in Pennsylvania, New York, and Connecticut. In 1996, he joined Media News Group, a national media company based in Denver, Colo., that publishes its flagship The Denver Post, in its Massachusetts-based New England Newspapers Group.

There, he served for over five years as the division executive in charge of consumer marketing operations for the company’s six daily and multiple weekly newspapers in the New England region, including The Berkshire Eagle in Pittsfield, Mass., and the Lowell Sun in Lowell, Mass.

Since then, Mike has held the position of vice president for the Journal Inquirer in Manchester, Conn., and director of circulation/consumer marketing for the Bangor Daily News before founding Edge Media Group in 2006. The Bangor-based media services company publishes The Maine Edge weekly.

He currently holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Temple University and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and currently serves on several community boards and committees, including the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau, Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, Greater Bangor 4th of July Corporation, Bangor International Airport Advisory Council, and Brewer Youth Sports PAL. Mike is also a past president and director of the Maine Press Association.
